Welcome to my ham radio profile! I operate from Lynn Haven, Florida, just minutes from the beautiful beaches of Panama City. Whether I’m operating barefoot from my home shack or portable near the coast, I’m always on the hunt for the next QSO.
My primary equipment includes a barefoot Icom 7300, a mobile Icom 7100 with a hamstick, and a highly portable Xiegu G90. I love working with simple wire antennas — especially end-fed and vertical designs. There’s nothing quite like reaching the world with ingenuity and a roll of wire!
From my metal-roofed home by the water, my antennas deliver surprising performance. Whether I’m on HF or experimenting with QRP, I’m always adjusting and learning. Ham radio is a lifelong experiment, and I enjoy every minute of it.
I’m an active participant in Parks on the Air (POTA). The program has reignited excitement in amateur radio and brings the community together like nothing else. I love hunting parks, setting up portable activations in general, and soaking up the atmosphere of the outdoors while making memorable contacts. I am advancing from hunting to include activting parks as time permits. Three of my favorite POTA activators I subscribe to are KD8LHR POTABOY , PotaPower ,and K5 (Kilowatts And Bourbon)
When the bands are quiet or I’m in a digital mood, I turn to DMR and FT8. These modes are fantastic for reaching distant stations with low power, and I’m constantly learning new things through digital operations. If we’ve made contact, I’d love to hear from you! Log it on QRZ QRZ.COM or send a QSL card my way. Every contact counts, and every QSO tells a story.
